Horizon Airways is the only flight school located at Mackay Airport and has a variety of 'industry common' aircraft available plus multiple professional instructors.
Founded in 1994 Horizon Airways has a successful history of training students for their Recreational, Private and Commercial Pilot Licenses plus Ratings and Endorsements.
Building on the success of Mackay, Horizon Airways expanded to open in early 2022 a base at Cloncurry and innisfail to service the needs for flight training and flight reviews in the local and surrounding communities.
Horizon Airways also has charter bases at Cairns, Cloncurry (to service Far North Queensland, Gulf and Cape communities) and Horn Island (to service the Torres Strait).
